T Dubois, French region supports Safran’s hydrogen fuel-cell effort, Aviation Week & Space Technology, 15-28 January 2018, p 42

n France, Safran continues to develop its hydrogen fuel-cell system initially for application to both electric taxiing and as a complement to an auxiliary power unit in flight. The Occitanie region of France is backing the concept of making Toulouse-Blagnac the first zero emissions airport of the world. For onboard storage, some researchers opt for compressed gas, and others for cryogenic fluid. Fuel cells are considered to last up to 15 times longer than batteries.
