The 12 000 lb Aurora Flight-Sciences-built Lightning Strike XV-24A VTOL demonstrator is powered by a single RR AE 1107C turbine driving three Honeywell Aerospace 1 MW generators feeding 24 ducted fans mounted on a tilting wing and canard.
