Ferry to become wind hybrid ship, IEEE Engineering 360, 2 February 2017, p 1

Finland, the M/S Viking Grace is to be retrofitted with one medium-sized Norsepower rotor sail unit of 24m height and 4m diameter, converting the ferry into a LNG/wind electric hybrid ship by utilising the Magnus effect. The rotor starts automatically when the system senses that the wind is strong enough to aid propulsion. Reductions are expected in fuel costs, and in carbon emissions of about 900 tons annually.
