G Warwick, Biofuel injection, Aviation Week & Space Technology, 21 November-4 December 2016, p 17

In the alternative jet fuel world, the International Civil Aviation Organisation is launching in 2021 the CORSIA carbon offsetting scheme, initially voluntary, in which airlines will be able to reduce the cost of carbon offsetting if they use suitable biofuels giving life-cycle-analysis CO2 reductions of 60% to 80%.   The aim is to reduce by 50% the 2015 CO2 emissions level by 2050.   Most legal issues are expected to be solved by biojet fuel being mixed with conventional jet fuel and delivered to all carriers serving an airport.   Air BP is one of the first major fuel suppliers to invest in the biofuel market.
