Planned methodology changes for UK greenhouse gas emissions

National Statistics on the UK’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for 1990-2015 will be published on 7th February 2017. Every year, BEIS applies methodological improvements to the way those emissions are estimated. The guidance published on 13th January 2017 sets out the main methodology changes that BEIS is planning to make when estimating emissions from 1990 to 2015, and their estimated impact on emissions compared to the method used previously.
