J Baldwin, Biogas comes of age, Petroleum Review, May 2016, p 34

In UK, the biomethane-to-grid (BtG) market came of age in 2015, when the addition of a further 23 connections brought the total to 50 nationwide.   By mid 2016, the annual ‘green gas production’ is expected to reach 3.5 TWh, a saving of 240,000 tonnes of LNG imports.   BtG is produced from organic waste, sewage, agricultural residues or energy crops, within an anaerobic digester, followed by removing H2S and CO2.   BtG is used both to inject into the national grid, and for direct sale to vehicles in fuel stations.
