Petroleum Review March 2016

This month’s issue begins with our annual review of the seismic market, which is positioning itself for an upswing in fortunes when the oil price starts to pick up once again. We provide an overview of the current state of play in the market, as well as developing technologies that are looking to reduce the pressure on business profit margins.

The Middle East is the subject of attention for our regional focus, an area where natural gas is playing an increasingly important role

in the energy mix. We also take a closer look at Saudi Arabia and the steps being taken in the face of continued low oil prices in a bid to remain competitive.

Recent developments in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies are also addressed in this issue, including a look at photosynthetic sequestration, one way to ‘green’ fossil fuels.

Last, but certainly not least, we review some of the highlights of IP Week 2016, which provided a chance for delegates to hear from a number of key industry players talking to the theme of ‘Navigating through uncertainty’, and to discuss ideas and debate the future that lies ahead.
