EI Knowledge is the centre for energy knowledge at the EI. We provide accurate and balanced energy information to support your work or studies. We also carry out our own research and engage EI members to create new sources of information and inform energy policy.

Claire Cortis - Digital Knowledge and Information Manager
Claire studied geography at Exeter University. She joined the Energy Institute in 2013 as a graduate library trainee and has since become a Chartered Librarian. She lives in Scotland and enjoys hiking and exploring the Scottish countryside.
Kinga Niemczyk – Senior Analyst
Kinga studied political science and international relations, focusing on the role of energy in geopolitics. She joined the Energy Institute in 2016, after several years of working in financial services and academia. Kinga loves reading spy-thrillers and watching international movies.
Ian Jones – Head of Knowledge, Insights, and Research
Prior to joining the EI in 2023, Ian co-founded AMPLYFI, a start-up developing artificial intelligence geared towards unlocking the internet to enhance business intelligence and market research. He has over eighteen years’ experience in the energy sector having previously worked for bp and Entergy where he specialised in analysing global electricity, carbon, and renewable markets.
Ololade Osifala - Energy Analyst
'Lolade has a Masters in Engineering for Sustainable Development and worked prior in the oil and gas industry. She has a profound interest in global energy markets and scaling sustainable energy technologies. Lolade also enjoys travelling and volunteering.
Sneha Thomas - Energy Analyst
Before joining the EI in 2023, Sneha graduated with an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2022. With a background in research and data analytics, she is dedicated to exploring ways her knowledge can drive sustainable progress in the evolving energy sector.
Nick Turton – External Affairs Director
Nick Turton has spent twenty years in Westminster, Whitehall and more recently in consultancy advising government ministers and corporate leaders across the energy sector. He has dealt with issues as complex and contentious as global climate talks, new nuclear power and spiralling energy bills. He is now the Energy Institute’s External Affairs Director and is working to reinforce the role of evidence and expertise at the heart of the energy debate.
